Life Insurance
Provides employees with a basic life insurance amount and the opportunity to supplement their coverage with optional life insurance, both payable to the designated beneficiary.
  • Flat amount or a multiple of employee's salary (1x, 2x or 3x).
  • Convertible to an individual product without proof of insurability.
  • Waiver of premiums in the event of total disability.
Dependent Life Insurance
Provides additional coverage for your employees' dependants. The following covered dependants are eligible, provided that they reside in Canada:
  • Spouse
  • Children who are dependant on the employee:
    • older than 24 hours but under 21 years of age
    • 21 to 26 inclusively, provided that they are regular full-time students
    • mentally or physically handicapped children, provided that they qualified as a dependant at the time of disability or illness
Optional Life Insurance
Optional Life Insurance is term insurance that is above and beyond the Life Insurance already included in your Group Insurance Plan, and it's available to the insured and their spouse. Optional Life Insurance allows your employees to choose the amount of coverage that fits their families' needs. 

Optional Life Insurance amounts must be between $10,000 and $250,000, and proof of insurability is required for any amount of insurance. There is a conversion option available to the participant upon termination of employment prior to age 65. The regular termination age is 70, the same as for the standard life insurance coverage.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit
Accidental death and dismemberment benefit offers protection in the event of accidental death, loss of limb or any qualified injury resulting from an accident.
  • Amount payable above basic life insurance amount.
  • 24-hour coverage.
  • Maximum benefit per accident depending on chosen coverage.
